Topco Recognizes Members and Suppliers for Outstanding Partnerships

Topco Associates, LLC held its 2017 Super Show from May 23 through May 25. During the conference, Topco honored members and suppliers who demonstrated exceptional partnerships througout 2016. Topco is proud to announce the following 2016 member winners:

Brookshire Holdings, Inc. — Outstanding Cause Marketing

Partnering with the East Texas Food Bank and Cans Get You Cooking, Brookshire built the world’slargest canned food pyramid over the span of four days. At the end of the promotion, 36,000 cans were donated to the East Texas Food Bank to provide meals for over 30,000 families in a 26-county region.

K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. —Outstanding Cross Promotion

K-VA-T partnered with Topco to redesign the logo and packaging for their brand Terry’s Chips.The grocer then partnered with Coke and Kellogg’s to create a consumer and associate contest to drive sales of Terry’s snacks.

Golub Corporation / Price Chopper Supermarkets —Outstanding Promotion

In an effort to support promote local maple producers in the Northeast, Price Chopper held the Maple Event, which spanned entire stores and included new and existing items. Price Chopper coordinated the launch of its PICS brand during this promotion.

Affiliated Foods, Inc. —Outstanding Merchandising Event

This year’s Spring Food Show theme “Ocean of Savings” featured custom displays and showcases highlighting own brands. The “Oceans of Savings” event hosted morethan 1,600 attendees and retailers, and 25% of the Show Day-only specials featured Shurfine and other key own brands.

Associated Food Stores, Inc. —Outstanding New Item/Category Launch (Wholesale)

Associated Food Stores recently replaced their non-foodand general merchandise items with Simply Done, Topco’s non-foods mega brand. Extensive marketing support, both in store and through external, cross-channel marketing, helped drive awareness of the launch.

Stater Bros. Markets —Outstanding New Item/Category Launch (Retail)

In 2016, Stater Bros. launched the Pure Harmony Brand in order to develop a best-in-class own brand premium pet food assortment that meets the needs of today’s shoppers. Stater Bros launch the Pure Harmony brand with 30 SKUs and provided extensive marketing through weekly circulars, half page ads, competitive retail offers, coupons, trial sizes and in-store point of sale displays.

In addition, the following suppliers were also honored by Topco during the Super Show:

  • Cascades Tissue Group –Outstanding Partnership in the Grocery Non-Foods Program
  • First Quality Consumer Products –Outstanding Partnership in the HBC Program
  • Versa Marketing –Outstanding Partnership in the Frozen Program
  • Byrne Dairy –Outstanding Partnership in the Dairy Program
  • Presto Products Company –Outstanding Partnership in Quality Assurance
